MESSER BRÜDER Release Info:

There hadn’t been a plan. Coming from a rehearsal she took the wrong door, tumbled into the studio and then she sang. And that was it. From then on the MESSER BRÜDER formed a trio – with her. Almost everything has changed since then: more vocals, more melodies, more aggression and most of all her voice.

Relationship is brittle but the music ties them together. On a personal level they walk on thin ice, but musically they all just fit together: electronic beats, slicing synthesizer-sounds, fat basses, cinematic guitar sounds from the steel-mill and a voice just to melt away. The music is a mix of real instruments and programmed sounds, full of surprising twists and turns and catchy tunes.

It was in Darmstadt where the musicians Thomas Buchenauer and Florian Malicke met. Somehow they both had ended up in that town near Frankfurt. Since 2010 they released three albums full of electronic instrumental music, which they also performed at theatre productions. Along with singer and actress Julia Rothfuchs the “EP 1” was released in 2016. The new album is titled “Fahr zur Hölle” (“Go To Hell”).

Nebel! Strobo!

HOLYGRAM – HOLYGRAM REMIXED

Label: Reptile Music
Format: Digital EP
Cat No: RMD001
Distribution: Altone
Release Date: 03.03.17
File Under: Post Punk | New Wave | Shoegaze

HOLYGRAM Release Info:

The Cologne based band HOLYGRAM have already shown their stunning potential with the self-titled debut EP, which Reptile Music released for the first time on CD in February 2017. Besides the five original tracks it contained four brandnew remixes by Blind Delon, Box And The Twins, D’Evoé and Bob Humid. Those mixes have been collected for the digital release of the EP “Holygram Remixed”.

HOLYGRAM walk the tightrope between New Wave, Post Punk and industrial Krautrock: driving, gloomy and full of catchy moments. The varied influences of the five band members who gathered in the vibrant music landscape of Cologne in 2015 are unmistakable: New Order meets NEU! Previously contradictory elements are deftly combined into a sinister soundtrack for the city at twilight. Music for the lost.

What Kind Of Dystopian Hellhole Is This?“.

HOLYGRAM Release Info:

Reptile Music proudly presents the CD edition of the stunning debut EP from the Cologne based band HOLYGRAM! Besides the five original tracks it contains four brandnew remixes by Blind Delon, Box And The Twins, D’Evoé and Bob Humid!

The debut EP “Holygram” was recorded and mixed in the band’s own AMEN studio in Cologne over several months. The five songs demonstrate the bandwidth of the band without staying on the beaten track or being stranded in any one particular genre. Anyone who has seen them live will confirm that the spectrum of HOLYGRAM is by no means exhausted.

The songs “Hideaway” and “Acceleration” show the atmospheric density of the band and clearly demonstrate the aspect of contrast which resonates subliminally throughout the production. Laid back drums meet driving basslines and synthesizer melodies to reflect the conflict in the lyrics. Topics such as alienation in the dreary city or depression are explored here in a unity of word and music.

“Daria”, “Still There” and “Distant Light”, on the other hand, invite the listener to dance in the fog and strobe lights of their favourite club and make no secret of the fact that the band does not just want to stimulate melancholic musing. HOLYGRAM will present the sound captured in the studio live on stage, without relying on the usual practice of backing tracks from the laptop.

THE HISTORY OF COLOUR TV – WRECK [Digital Release]

thoctv-wreck-single-cover_smallNew Release – November 2016

THE HISTORY OF COLOUR TV – WRECK

Label: Reptile Music / Weird Books
Format: Digital Single (Europe)
Distribution: Altone
Release Date: 25.11.16
File Under: Indie | Alternative

THOCTV Release Info:

Wreck is the new single by the Berlin-based international band The History Of Colour TV and the first song to be issued from their upcoming third album, for which the band traveled to France in the spring of 2016 to record with Peter Deimel (The Ex, The Wedding Present etc) at the legendary Black Box studios. Stylistically, Wreck is an accurate snapshot of the album the trio emerged with – a dynamic and open recording, live and with minimal overdubs. With its elongated structure and narrative theme, the song itself blends melodic sensibilities with noisy echoes of the early American underground.

The History Of Colour TV was founded in 2010 in Berlin by british artist Jaike Stambach. Over the course of the two albums and multiple EPs released, the band has been unabashedly diverse in their approach, exploring harsh noise, experimental sound collages, reverb-saturated dream-pop, shoegaze guitar-scapes, or the stripped-down rock of their more recent offerings. Their new album Something Like Eternity will be released in March 2017.

ASCETIC: waren ursprünglich in Australien beheimatet.

BOX AND THE TWINS – EVERYWHERE I GO IS SILENCE (CD|LP|Digital)
Label: Manic Depression / Synth Religion
Distribution: Altone

Release: 08.11.16
File Under: Dark & Dream Pop

Info:

In den vergangenen Jahren haben BOX AND THE TWINS bereits mit Künstlern wie Esben And The Witch, Roosevelt, Chameleons Vox, The KVB, Keluar, Be Forest, Minuit Machine, Hante, Schonwald, Evi Vine, Leave The Planet und A Projection die Konzertbühne geteilt.

KNIGHT$ – What’s Your Poison EP

knight-front-coverPromotion News – November 2016

KNIGHT$ – WHAT’S YOUR POISON EP (CD|Vinyl|Digital)
Label: Mirrorman / Specchio Uomo
Distribution: Cadiz

Release: 18.11.16
File Under: Electro Pop

Info:

KNIGHT$ is a UK artist with a knack for penning some memorable electro anthems. Whether with a full band or simply stripped back with a pianist, KNIGHT$ delivers. With one foot firmly in the present, and a discerning knowledge of music’s past, KNIGHT$ might be the newcomer to occupy your sound system in 2017.

Cutting his teeth in projects such as Scarlet Soho and Boytronic, KNIGHT$ has made a name for himself. Touring Europe alongside Zoot Woman, IAMX and The Faint, he’s also headlined the Under The Sky stage at Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, and co-wrote the lead track for the German movie “Bauernfrühstück” in 2011, where he duetted alongside German classical vocalist Isgaard (Schiller).

KNIGHT$’ and current producer Martin Dubka (Tesla Boy/Tyson/Ali Love) started working on the first new tracks in 2016 in Hackney, London. Even after a short time in the studio Dubka and KNIGHT$ developed an almost telepathic understanding. It was clear the initial tracks needed to be concise, with super strong stick-like-glue melodies. KNIGHT$ would program the midi, with Dubka working overtime, patching in an array of 80s vintage analogue synthesizers and getting the sounds just right. By the time they were finished, KNIGHT$ knew he had something pretty unique on their hands!

KNIGHT$ holds undeniable magnetism live, but there’s a palpable substance to all he turns his hand to. Just when you think you have this guy sussed, he will offer you something different, something you never saw coming. It’s pop Jim, but not as we know it!
