THE FOREIGN RESORT – NEW FRONTIERS (CD|Digital Album)
Label: Reptile Music / Ignition
Release Date: 29.08.14
File Under: Shoegaze | Post Punk | New Wave
Sonically expressive, dark and moody, catchy and up-beat are words to describe this Danish group that mixes 80s new-wave with explosive post-punk and shoegaze.
Hailing from Copenhagen, The Foreign Resort has intricately balanced an international sound with songs that instill contradictory feelings of melancholy and bliss. The band takes the audience on a journey through passages of textured layers with haunting and dreamy vocals, to echoes and pulsations of overdriven guitars, powerful drumming, driving bass, and intense thematic melodic lines. The end result is an aural rollercoaster of emotional intensity.
Magazines have praised The Foreign Resort – The Big Takeover wrote “This band is epic!” about their latest release. Since 2010, the band has been rigorous in booking over 200 shows (including showcases at Spot Festival, SXSW, Iceland Airwaves and CMJ Music Marathon). Other international bands have also welcomed them on their tours such as The Raveonettes, A Place To Bury Strangers and Swervedriver.
The Foreign Resort’s new album “New Frontiers” is produced by John Fryer (Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Cocteau Twins, Lush). The singles “Dead End Roads” and “Alone” are currently in rotation at several radio stations, the next single “Flushed” will be released in fall.
